Papi's late for lunch by Annalee Papi's late for lunch by Annalee
I tried to make a pic where I could totally ignore perspectives and shading... that was not as easy as I thought it would be. But I like the result.

hope you like it too

There's just something about the slightly deranged story-book illustration style of *Annalee's artwork that just appeals to me on so many levels. Take a look at Papi's late for lunch and see for yourself. ( Featured by MPsai )

This is so incredibly creepy, but more importantly so incredibly well drawn
It's perfect - from the stain on wallpaper to the browning of the back of the oven, as they do. The hair,'s so impressive, I can't stress enough how much I think of your skill.
Perhaps a mistake - the icecubes in the jug are sitting on the bottom, when icecubes float.
Almost reminds me of an egyptian hyrogliphic (sp?)
What talent! :D

Thanks. You are right, the icecubes should float, I didn't think of that.

I just love all the small details you fit in. The distortion in the wallpaper, the mother's stray wisps of hair, the drip coming from the straw, the way the cushion on the empty chair is slid forward a bit and hanging a little, the peace sign magnet on the stove that's stuck on crooked... even the way the table cloth is hanging. The one thing that DID get me was the ice in the lemonade pitcher. It's not floating. Was this intentional? The entire piece of art is very interesting, overall. I very much like it. I'm a realism lover and I don't often take a keen liking to symbolism art, but this just grabbed me by the eyeballs. Great work.
