Dear children, this is what a revolutionist looks like.
After listening to In Rainbows a couple of times I felt inspired to do something Radiohead related. Since I can't fly to the UK and give all of them a big hug (shame on you for thinking of something different) I thought I could also just draw the incredibly talented Mr. Thom Yorke. I used two photos as references and it was both a pain in the ass and a huge pleasure to draw him... especially loved doing his Hobbit ears. So yeah, I am actually pretty happy with the result. I think it works, at least for me. I didn't want to portrait him especially depressed or wacky or whatever people often seem to see in him. I wanted to draw him the way the new album made me see him (if that makes sense)... it didn't really turned out that way though. Anyway I am really glad with how it came out. Actually I used some raster effect here that you can't really see at this size I guess. So here is a close up view. I hope you like it. Listen to Videotape, it is awesome (yeah, I already had a link in my journal but there can't be enough Radiohead greatness in this world) mechanical pencil and photoshop |
